Bad Großpertholz
Idyllic and traditional spa and Nature Park municipality with 1300 inhabitants on the edge of the Böhmerwald forest
The municipality of Bad Großpertholz is located in an idyllic setting on the edge of the Böhmerwald forest. Huge granite boulders, extensive coniferous forests and mountain ridges rising over 1,000m invite you to relax, explore and admire. Enjoy the natural landscape on 127 km of well-marked hiking trails: primeval moors, small creeks, rock formations alternating with meadows, fields and forests invite you to immerse yourself in the silence. You can also expand your knowledge of flora and fauna on 17 km of marked theme trails during a hike.
The traditional spa and tourist municipality Bad Großpertholz offers the ideal conditions for slowing down the hectic pace of everyday life. Rare plants, mushrooms, berries, paths in and around the Nordwald Nature Park and the clear fresh air in the extensive forests invite you to take a deep breath and recharge your batteries. With around 1,300 inhabitants, the spa community is otherwise rather tranquil - the ideal place for pure relaxation.
The topology of the municipality area invites you to go for cycling and mountain biking with its well-marked circular routes. The variety of possibilities results from the interconnection of circular routes in the Bike Waldviertel area, where Bad Großpertholz is also interesting as a location for tours into the Mühlviertel or to the Czech Republic.
